I love taking self-portraits because they let me capture more than just how I look—they hold a specific moment, a mood, a version of myself I might not see again. It’s a way to document where I am mentally and emotionally, whether that’s something as simple as a new haircut or a jacket that changes how I carry myself. At the same time, it sharpens my eye. Teaching me how light falls, how angles shift perception, and how subtle changes in posture tell a story. So when I step behind the camera with others, I understand how to help them find their best, most honest version of themselves.
